PAWS CROSSED SURVIVORS EGYPT

Dennis was brought to the shelter after we saw a video of him on the street in which he had a strange hopping gait. Xrays show he had a fracture of the femoral head and damaged hip socket, possibly caused by poor nutrition. He was put on a high quality dry food with a bone growth supplement and a further xray 2 months later showed that although the fracture had healed and his bone density improved, the acetabulum was ruined. It looks like he will need an operation to remove the femoral head and form a false joint though physiotherapy to strengthen the surrounding muscles. We are looking for someone to foster him following his surgery as the shelter is unable to meet his needs during his recovery.
